“Arthur’s Slice” by Tony Hanes

“Arthur’s Slice”
Internal battles paint wars of emotions.
Devotion, once a word with power,
Now hide behind showers of doubt.
Rain continues as our words fit no more.
Contemplation has become my best friend.

As happiness becomes an enemy, I lose focus.
Walking down the corridors of sadness,
I stumble into the spirit of hope.
Reaching for you with no success,
Drives hope back into the inferno.

With a burning heart, I give up.
The Four Horseman ride swiftly towards me,
Death is drawing near.
As you take off the engagement ring,
My head is sliced off by a great Knight.
Nothing else to fear…

The End
